Lucia Kureková (PhD) earned her doctoral degree in political science from Central European University (CEU) in 2011. She researches and has published on the topics related to migration and labor market; education and skill-formation systems; social and economic policy; foreign direct investment; political economy of transition; and diversities of capitalism in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).
Her dissertation, awarded the Best Dissertation Award at CEU in 2011, analyzed labor migration patterns from CEE in the context of EU enlargement and examined how economic restructuring and welfare systems affected migration in the region. She has participated in several EU-funded collaborative research projects and has worked as a consultant for the World Bank on the issues of Roma labor market exclusion. In SGI she works as researcher in NEUJOBS project.
