In July 2012 he joined the team of former minister of interior and current MP Daniel Lipšic, thus started his political career. While being active in politics he will not be involved in any activities of SGI.

Robert is involved with SGI since 2009. He focuses on issues of economic and social policy, capacity of the institutions and political economy of the structural reforms. Since 1995 he has been a journalist in many respected media as SME daily, Radio Free Europe, Domino-forum Weekly or Tyzden Weekly. He is a host of weekly economic debates on national TV news channel TA3. Robert was also an advisor to deputy prime minister of the SR (Ivan Mikloš) since November 1998 to June 1999. He recieved his university degree in Public Policy from Comenius University, Bratislava.

As SGI partner he was responsible for project management and research.
